Face down on the floor of his office in the fall of 1990, Pastor Steve McVey was a broken man as he found himself once again caught in the trap of trying harder and harder to live a good Christian life and failing over and over. Even with all his training, Steve felt completely lost in trying to figure out what God wanted him to do. His struggle, and the discoveries that followed led to the 1995 publication of Grace Walk and the start of a worldwide ministry helping people understand God’s life-changing invitation.
I’ve been a Christian since childhood. Like many, that meant focusing on the do’s & don’ts, working hard to live a good life, and looking forward to being in heaven someday. Somewhere along the way I began to sense a disconnect between the “sin-management” messages I was hearing in church and the freedom, joy, and new life I was reading about in the Bible. In 2008 Grace Walk was the book that catapulted me onto a path of re-discovering the “good news” of the Bible and the meaning of Paul’s words, “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” Since that time I have shared this book with dozens of friends, young and old, and lives are being transformed. Turns out it is not just “good news” but GREAT NEWS…LIFE-CHANGING NEWS…AMAZING, JOYFUL, BLOW-YOUR-SOCKS-OFF NEWS!
If you are wondering where all the promised joy and peace is in your Christian walk…if you are tired of continually working to “get your act together”…if you know there should be more to life than biding our time until heaven…if you think Jesus is all about rules…if your life isn’t going so hot right now…if you have never met Jesus and would like to know what this Christianity stuff is about…this is the book for you. Beginning Feb 2, 2011 this blog will run concurrently with a book study at our local coffee shop. If you have read the book, are reading the book, or are in the study, feel free to share what God is doing in your life. Feel free to email me directly if you have specific questions or need details on the study craig.mosher@sbcglobal.net
